Chomchat Silarat (Palmy), stands among one of the most prominent pianists in Thailand. She has been actively performing and participating in competitions since young age.
Palmy won numerous awards from national and international competitions. Her first solo recital in Bangkok was in 2010 which established her national reputation. In 2011, Palmy held her debut concerto performance with Silpakorn Summer School Orchestra (performing Mozart Piano Concerto in A major K.488 under the Baton of Maestro Hikotaro Yazaki). She won the First Prize from The 5th Beethoven Competition in Thailand which lead to her debut recital in Bonn, Germany.
In 2012, Palmy had her first debut in the States after winning third place from The American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition resulting in the performance at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York City.
Since 2012, Palmy has been giving charity recitals every Summer in her hometown in order to raise money for the disadvantaged and children. She believes that her ability to perform music can communicate meaningful message to the society.
Other than performing extensively, Palmy participated in international master classes and studied with many world-renowned pianists such as Rolf Dieter-Arens, Dina Yoffe, Akiko Ebi. She also participated regularly in famous festivals such as Miami Music Festival, as well as Aspen music festival where she studied with Anton Nel, Wu- Han and Julian Martin.
Palmy also shows interest and remarkable performance in Piano Pedagogy. During her senior year as an undergraduate candidate, she held a position of Jacobs School of Music Young Pianist program's instructor. She was one of a few undergraduate to stand among highly talented and professional individuals. Palmy is currently a faculty of piano at The Aurora School of Music in Ohio.
Palmy received a Bachelor degree in Piano performance from Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University. Where she was awarded a full tuition scholarship, studying with Arnaldo Cohen. Currently, Palmy is pursuing her Master degree in Piano Performance at The Cleveland Institute of Music under the guidance of Antonio Pompabaldi.

Teaching Philosophy
ปาล์มใฝ่ฝันอยากเป็นครูหรืออาจารย์มาตั้งแต่เด็ก ตั้งแต่ยังไม่รู้เลยด้วยซ้ำว่าจะสอนอะไร ปาล์มมีครูที่เป็นตัวอย่างที่ดีและเป็นแรงบัลดาลใจให้อยู่มากมายหลายท่าน ครูที่ดีในความคิดของปาล์ม คือครูที่รักในการทำงาน เอาใจใส่นักเรียนอย่างจริงใจ ซื่อสัตย์ในการทำงาน มีความอดทน มีความเข้าใจ และที่สำคัญ มีความรู้และความชำนาญในแขนงต่างๆอย่างแท้จริง อาจารย์คนหนึ่งในสมัย ป.5 จากโรงเรียนรุ่งอรุณ เป็นอาจารย์สอนคณิตศาสตร์ ท่านทำให้วิชาคณิตศาสตร์ที่ปาล์มเกลียด กลายเป็นวิชาที่ปาล์มรักและอยากแสวงหาความรู้มากขึ้น ครูท่านนี้ไม่เคยให้เด็กท่องสูตร หากแต่อธิบายทุกอย่าง อย่างละเอียดเพื่อให้เด็กเข้าใจอย่างแท้จริง ครูท่านนี้ ยังคงเป็นผู้นำที่ดี ไม่เคยชี้นิ้วสั่งนักเรียน หรือทำโทษนักเรียนโดยไม่มีเหตุผล เมื่อนักเรียนโดนทำโทษให้วิ่ง หรือวิดพื้น ครูท่านนี้ จะลงไปวิ่ง และวิดพื้นด้วยทุกครั้ง เนื่องจากท่านคิดว่าเป็นความรับผิดชอบของท่าน และท่านอยากจะเป็นตัวอย่าง ในการเป็นผู้นำที่รักนักเรียนอย่างแท้จริง
ปาล์มมีโอกาสได้ทำงานเป็นอาจารย์ระหว่างศึกษาอยู่ที่อเมริกา ซึ่งเป็นประสบการณ์ที่ล้ำค่า ทุกๆวันที่ปาล์มสอน ปาล์มมีความสุขมากที่ได้เห็นการพัฒนาของเด็กนักเรียนไม่ว่าจะช้าหรือเร็ว ปาล์มจะหันกลับมามองถึงปัญหาและข้อบกพร่องของปาล์มอยู่เสมอเมื่อเกิดปัญหาขึ้นในการทำงาน เพื่อนำมาปรับปรุงและต่อยอดให้การทำงานของปาล์มมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น การสอนนั้นไม่ง่าย การทำงานกับเยาวชนนั้นไม่ง่าย และการทำงานในระบบประเพณีและวัฒนธรรมที่แตกต่างไปจากของไทยนั้น ไม่ง่าย แต่ด้วยความอดทนและความสู้ ปาล์มทำได้ และปาล์มเชื่อว่าคนที่มีใจรักและใจสู้ทุกๆคน ก็ทำได้เช่นเดียวกัน
ปาล์มมีความสุขมาก ที่ปาล์มสามารถหาเชี้ยงชีพได้โดยการให้ความรู้กับคนอื่น ปาล์มคิดว่าปาล์มโชคดีแค่ไหน ที่คนอื่นนำเงินมาจ่ายปาล์มเพื่อแลกกับความรู้และความใส่ใจของปาล์ม อาชีพปาล์มคล้ายกับพ่อ และ แม่ ซึ่งเป็นหมอผ่าตัด และ หมอฟัน ท่านทำงานด้วยใจรักและความใส่ใจ ทำให้มีคนไข้ (เรียกได้ว่า ลูกค้า ซึ่งเปรียบเหมือนนักเรียนของปาล์ม) เข้ามารักษา (ใช้บริการ) มากมาย
การทำงาน ปาล์มเชื่อว่าจุดขายของทุกอย่างในโลกนี้คือคุณภาพ
Teaching has been my passion since young age. I was inspired by many figures in the teaching world including my middle school teachers, high-school teachers and my piano teachers. A good teacher must possess personal quality (caring, understanding, demanding, dedicated and many more) as well as professional quality (performs well, plays well, understand mechanism of physical techniques and knowledgeable in relevant areas). My goal is to deliver professional service of teaching and share my art/passion with individuals of all ages while witness them grow emotionally, physically and musically. My long term goal is to create a teaching method for young individuals that would combine basic knowledge of classical music theory and history along with piano playing, in order to provide them a well-rounded knowledge base since young age. As I travel through the journey of a teacher, I work hard to criticize and evaluate myself in order to become better at my profession. I am fortunate to be in a field that I love. I believe that a selling point of any field or profession is the quality of the service or product.
